The Wikipedia article on the St. Ignatius Mission says:

“The mission church is a simplified, vernacular example of Gothic revival architecture constructed of bricks made from native clay. The most exceptional feature of the interior are the 58 murals painted by Brother Joseph Carignano, an untrained artist who worked as a cook in the mission.”

I have to say the murals are very impressive, and would not have guessed that they were painted by an untrained painter working as a cook.

Worth a visit if you are in the area.  It is located on the Flathead Indian reservation north of Missoula.
