New Year’s Eve, shooting off fireworks on the streets of Hilo.
It’s a tradition here in Hawaii to shoot off fireworks on New Year’e Eve. In fact, apart from 4th of July, it is the only time it is legal to do so.
My son is 7 and very much into fireworks right now. Here he and a friend were igniting “Butterflies”.
Happy 2010!
Happy New Year Eric! I love this image. Lots of story in it. Somehow it’s the lights in relation to the heads. There’s kind of a sci fi feeling to it.
And a Happy New Year to you too, Andreas!
I thought the same thing as I was looking through these images–something very “alien-esque” about them. Part of it is that bizarre lighting that we are required to use on the island to preserve the dark skies for the telescopes on the mountain.
