Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say,
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day,
That’s the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii’s way
To say, “Merry Christmas,
A very Merry Christmas to you.”
I’m not really trying to copy Andreas‘ song per post idea, but I can’t help myself again, today inspired me! There are many versions of this song around, by Jimmy Buffett, Bette Midler and more recent ones, but I think the classic version from Bing Crosby is still the best.
Not much of a photograph, just wanted to show you what a beautiful Christmas day we had here. The temperature was perfect, the trade winds were blowing ever so nicely, and sunny all day long. It doesn’t get much better than this, folks. For better or worse, we didn’t go to the beach, golfing, the park, or anything else, just stayed around the neighborhood, opening presents every few hours and playing with them inside and outside in between. Snow would have been fun, but the only place to find that is up in the mountains here and that’s a long drive for some pretty poor snow. So sun and grass it is.
This photo is from a walk with the dog today. We always go down to this field. The grass is waist high or higher, but is so packed down that it is very spongy, and Lily goes crazy sproinging (is that a word?) around the field. She wore herself out good today.
Where ever you are, and whatever your weather, I hope you had a safe and enjoyable day today!
