Eric, you look so relaxed. When I try to do a self-portrait I always look a little stiff and posed–or else I’ll have that deer in the headlights look. How good are you on that guitar?

I was enjoying a quiet Saturday afternoon by myself for a change (kids and wife were elsewhere), sitting around in my skivvies and playing guitar. I was feeling very relaxed. I dunno what struck me to take a self portrait then except that a) I’d been wanting to take one for a while–it seems like something that should be part of the photographic journey, and b) my other main hobby is playing guitar and I thought it would be interesting to document that and look back on it later in life.

As to my skills on guitar,… we’ll I’m about four or five years into it. Not playing enough to be really good, but people say they like what they hear when I’m playing. But it’s mostly for myself. Sort of like my photography…:-)
