Panasonic LX3? Hmmm…
I noted Wouter Brandsma’s report on his new Ricoh GX-200. I definitely like his photography and respect his opinion. And he’s a bit down on it. All the more interesting because he basically begged them on his blog to send him one after his GX-100 was in for cleaning three times to the Ricoh repair facility. No gushing, he tells it like it is.
With my own recent GX-100 malfunction, I’m beginning to think about what I’m going to do about my broken GX-100. And lo and behold, 1001 Noisy Cameras announces a $100 instant rebate at J&R on the new Panasonic Panasonic DMC-LX3! Offer ends Sep. 6.
But Photokina is just around the corner. Will Canon introduce the G10? Should I try to get the GX-100 repaired? Decisions, decisions…

Face Detection–coming to a DSLR near you!
Is it my imagination, or are DSLRs merging with compacts? Live view, face detection, scene modes, lighting adjustments,… movie mode? It’s got the feature bloat of a compact, with the physical bloat of a DSLR.
Now where’s that micro 4/3′s rangefinder for the serious photographer? Not the pro, mind you…the serious photographer (no matter the occupation).
